Types of Ballroom Dance

American Ballroom Dancing is divided into two general categories: Rhythm and Smooth. The Rhythm dances that I teach are ChaCha, Rumba, Samba, Bolero, Mambo, Salsa, and Swing. These dances are “spot” dances, as they tend to stay in a smaller more enclosed area on the dance floor.

The Smooth dances that I teach are FoxTrot, Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, and Viennese Waltz. These dances move in the Line of Dance around the dance floor.

To learn more about each of these dances go to www.ballroomdancers.com. Learning all of the dances will allow you to have a wonderful time at a ballroom dance or studio party. Check out my class schedule and sign up now! I offer beginning classes (Level I) and intermediate classes (Level II) so I will be sure to have a class that will fit your needs. My Dance Associates

Gloria Zahn and Rod Schulz are my associate instructors. They are an invaluable part of my dance program. With their help and passion for dance, our classes have a whole new dynamic that is not possible with one instructor. Instruction is delivered in one class at multiple levels simultaneously. Everyone becomes a better dancer and has fun regardless of experience. No partner? No worries! We've got you covered.
