About Susan

In 2006 Susan Alby founded her business Chance2Dance,LLC in order to teach social and ballroom dancing at various locations in the Sheboygan area. She is presently teaching at the internationally renowned John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, at Dancesport Studio in Cedarburg,Yoga Loft in Sheboygan, and Kohler Sports Core, Kohler. “My main goal is to share the wonderful world of dance with others! I thoroughly enjoy dance at every level – studying, teaching, performing, and most of all having lots of fun!”

At Northern Michigan University Susan graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Art and Design and a minor in Music. While working on her degree she taught basic ballroom and social dance classes in the local community. Her interest in ballroom led her to instruction with an International Champion dancer at one of the nation’s largest franchise studios. It was here that Susan was able to incorporate her knowledge of techniques in classical dance into the area of ballroom dancing.

Susan Alby has been sharing her joy of music and dance with people of all ages for over 30 years. Playing the piano throughout her childhood led her to the study of dance in her young adult years. Beginning with Spanish and Flamenco dance, she went on to study Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. She began teaching in 1983. It was when she played keyboard for a jazz combo in Milwaukee in exchange for ballroom dance lessons that she discovered the magic and fun of this form, and immediately knew it would play a vital part in her program of instruction.

About Rod

At an early age, Rod Schulz discovered the fun and excitement of dance.  Club dancing in his younger years developed a desire to explore more disciplined dance movements.  Recently this journey brought Rod into the world of Ballroom and Latin dancing.  Being part of a community that shares the same passion has been a great reward, resulting in new opportunities to grow in dance.

Currently Rod teaches dance at the John Michael Kohler Art Center and Dancesport Studio in Cedarburg.  He continues to train with some of the finest instructors the area has to offer and enjoys every moment of it.

Along with teaching classes, Rod offers private dance instruction in Ballroom and Latin dance.  Whether students are preparing for a wedding dance, social settings or choreography of a routine, Rod always looks forward to surrounding himself with people who share his passion.

About Gloria

"My desire to become a ballroom dancer materialized when I met Sue Alby five years ago.  Thirsty to improve my skills, I also took lessons in several locations in Wisconsin, as well as Alabama, Florida and Georgia.  I become energized when I am dancing.  Research has shown that ballroom dancing is great for senior citizens - keeping the mind sharp and the body toned.  Perks?  Meeting terrific people, wearing cool shoes, donning glitzy attire and  exercising without thinking about it.  Just keep on dancin'."
